4.8% of citizens unemployed in Franklin County in 2021

Franklin County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 34,846 people out of the 1,313,598 living in Franklin County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Franklin County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Franklin County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 690,804 people who had a job during that time, 733 were employed in the Armed Forces and 690,071 belonged to the civilian labor force.
