City of Groveport issued the following announcement on January 19.
The City of Groveport is currently seeking applications for the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The Groveport Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 course owned and operated by the City of Groveport.
This position performs general golf course and facility upkeep, turf management and snow removal. Provides assistance to the Golf Course Superintendent with supervision of ground maintenance workers and seasonal ground maintenance workers in task completion and quality control. More specifically the individual will have involvement with staff, irrigation system, drainage system and small project management. They will also have considerable involvement with the planning, scheduling and implementation of the plant health program and safety program.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of golf course maintenance tasks, be dependable, professional, team oriented and have great attention to detail and follow through.
A two or four year turfgrass management degree is preferred in combination with two or three years golf course maintenance (or related turf management) experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities is required.
Certification required include a Valid Ohio Driver’s License and insurability under the Municipality’s vehicle insurance policy, *Commercial Applicator Certification and *First Aid/CPR. *must have the ability to obtain within six months of date of hire.
Starting Salary Range of $36,406.66 to $47,481.41 annually based upon previous experience. The City of Groveport offers an outstanding benefits package.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a background (BCI and FBI) pre-employment drug screening, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the Municipal vehicle insurance policy.
